Dear Parents
Our pupils have been busy preparing for tomorrow’s Inter-House Gala. All pupils in Grades 3 – 7 who can swim a length will be taking part and our congratulations must go to those pupils who have tried so hard over the term to be able to swim a length so that they can take part.
The weather has changed and it is likely to be rather gloomy and with some rains. Please note that even if it is raining tomorrow morning all pupils must come to school. If the gala is to be cancelled we will make the decision tomorrow morning. However, every effort will be made to hold the event. Please remember that rain in Avondale does not mean that it is raining in Belvedere.
Afternoon Activities will return to the normal pre Half Term time table as from Monday.
We will be holding our annual ‘Civvies Day’ to raise funds for the ‘Workers Christmas Hampers’, next Friday. All pupils are allowed to come to school in Civvies and are asked to bring $2:00, which will be used to buy goods for the workers hampers as a thank you for all they do for us.
Inter-House Gala
The Inter-House Gala for Grade 3 – 7 will start at 8:30am.
All pupils participating should meet their House Captains at 8:15am on the netball field for warm up. All pupils in Grades 3 – 7 who can swim a length will be participating in at least 2 events. The events list with competitors is posted on the notice board.
Pupils should bring their correct Bishopslea swimming kit, including blue costume, house colour cap, full tracksuit, clean white socks and takkies. They should bring two towels and should be covered in sun block. Drinking water may be brought but not cool drink so as not to attract bees. Please could parents ensure all items are clearly named.
Please note the following:
Please would parents not go to their children’s tents to talk etc during the gala and please do not send food and drinks to the pupils during the gala.
