Dear Parents
Firstly, our thanks and congratulations go to the PTA Chairman, Innocent Maringa, and the PTA Committee members for their hugely successful ‘Golf Day’. Thanks must also go to the Grade 5 parents who helped, to all the sponsors and donors and to everyone who played. It was a most enjoyable event with every team winning prizes.
The Board of Governors are inviting all parents to a ‘Meet and Greet’ on Tuesday 22nd July from 6:00pm to 7:00pm in the School Hall. This will give parents the opportunity to meet the Board and have the Board’s function and role explained, as well as that of all the Sub Committees.
Our Senior Choir is busy rehearsing for the Combined Schools’ Choir Concert next Wednesday afternoon at 3:30pm in the Hartmann House Hall. This concert, which will have over 240 pupils from different schools in the choir, is always a very special event.
Our Grade 7’s are having a breather after writing their Common Entrance Exams last Saturday. The Grade 7’s are now doing the Adventures Unlimited Course, kindly presented by the Christian Union, and will also do the MARS First Aid Course, which they will receive certificates for on passing the exam at the end of the course, these courses being part of the Life Skills programme they undertake.
Our Grade 3 – 5 pupils, teachers and parents are also extremely busy at the moment preparing and rehearsing for their production of ‘A Tribute To Walt Disney’ which will be performed for parents and friends on the evenings of 30th and 31st July.
The teachers have been busy as well, as all have just completed a ‘Communication and Customer Care Course’, presented by Catherine Meridith weekly since the beginning of term. All found it a most valuable course.
The Nursery Class is very excited about their trip to Noah’s Park next Tuesday and next Friday we will be holding our termly ‘Inter-House Shona Word A Day’ competition. This competition, like the ‘Inter-House Bonds and Tables’, is held termly with the accumulated points going towards the trophies presented at the end of year Prize Giving.
