Dear Parents
A warm welcome back to all and a special welcome to our new pupils and parents who have joined Bishopslea this term.

We also welcome Mrs Nicky Howes who has joined us on a permanent basis to take over Grade 3K.

Our very special congratulations go to Abi and Joe Kawonza on the birth of their daughter yesterday.  Abi is no longer our Bursar but is still with us on part time basis to do our salaries and wages.  We wish them every happiness.

Sadly we say goodbye to Miss Fadzayi Musasa who has been our receptionist for the past year while she completed her studies, which she was undertaking through correspondence.  We wish her every success in her new position.

This holiday we undertook some very exciting projects.  Our two hostel dining rooms have been refurbished and our covered gym has been completely refurbished and the floor laid with indoor turf suitable for indoor hockey as well as all other sports.  This 500 sq/m facility, which was our most under utilised facility is now a showpiece of the school and will benefit all the pupils, especially when it rains.  We also converted a passage attached to the Active Learning Centre (our remedial facility) into a purpose-built room for Occupation Therapists    when working on pupils’ gross motor skills.  We understand that this room, with its indoor turf covered floor, is a first for this purpose.

Further, the spectator stands were all repainted and repaired and the hostel kitchen cold room was refurbished.

As per the hostel lunch letters sent out yesterday, we are very pleased to have been able to reduce the cost of day scholar lunches as well as the cost of daily Day Boarding.

Our two Grade 7 classes will be going to their environmental and Leadership camp to Tree of Life next Tuesday, returning next Friday.  We wish them ‘happy camping’ and what a pleasure it is to be able to transport both classes plus all their kit on one bus.

The PTA are busy preparing for their annual Sponsored Walk and Fun Day too be held on Sunday 27th September and all pupils are encouraged to get as many sponsors as possible, especially as every pupil who raises a minimum of $50:00 will get a personalised braclet and a pizza voucher.  This year, as well as offering stalls for selling produce at $50:00 a stall, we are inviting companies to come and advertise and promote products and services.  Companies wishing to participate may bring a 3m x 3m gazebo to use to display wares and information in.  The cost is $50:00 per gazebo (not supplied by school).

School Fees
Could we once again please ask parents to furnish us with copies of bank transfers to enable us to receipt your daughter’s school fees.  This is also required for internal bank transfers as these only reflect with a reference number.  Please note that the deadline for paying 3rd term school fees in total so as not to incur the $100 administration fee has been extended to Friday 18th September.
