Dear Parents
The PTA’s Movie Night last Friday was a huge success with a record number of children and parents attending.  The change of weather during the evening did catch everyone unawares but did not dampen the spirit of the evening.  The fires were certainly appreciated.  Our thanks go to the PTA for organizing the event and to everyone who supported it.

I am receiving many requests from parents for advice on how to help dyslexic and ADD children, especially as so many children are being professionally diagnosed as being affected.  To try to assist as many parents as possible I will be giving a talk on ‘Understanding and Helping Dyslexic and ADD children’ at 6:00pm on Tuesday 8th July in the School Hall.  All parents, including non-Bishopslea parents, are most welcome to attend.  I have given similar talks many times in the past to teachers, parents, Head’s Conference, at Gateway Teacher’s College, Remedial Teachers Association and the Zimbabwe Mental Health Practitioners  Association but have not done one for a number of years.  There does appear to be a need for one again.

Our teams have once again played a number of matches against other schools and in our Internal hockey league with results noted below.  Please would parents who watch matches be reminded that shouting support is great but shouting instructions to players is against the CHISZ Sport’s Code of Ethical Conduct and confuses players who are given instructions by coaches.  We also wish our six hockey players going to the Inter Provisional Trials this afternoon every success.

Next week is Exam Week.  There will be no afternoon activities except for matches.

Interviews for prospective Nursery and Grade 1 pupils for 2015 will also be held next week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

The PTA’s Golf Day is now only three weeks away.  Tee off times are filling up quickly so please ensure everyone wanting to play books early as the limited Tee Off times are being allocated on a first come first serve basis.  Prizes, however big or small, are being requested for this popular event.

Childline’s Red Day
Childline are holding a ‘Red Day’ on Monday.  Children wear their school uniforms but may wear something red as well.  All pupils are requested to bring a donation of $1 for Childline.
