Dear Parents
Welcome back to all and a special welcome to new pupils and parents.
The holidays were enjoyed by all with pupils happy to be back after such a long break though.
Our Senior Hockey Squad had a full but very exciting holiday with much of it preparing for their Hockey Tour to South Africa. All their practising certainly paid off as can be seen by the results below. It must be noted that the teams we were playing were all a year older than our girls. Our girls must be congratulated for acquitting themselves so well. Our thanks and appreciation go to Mrs Brooke, Mrs Marais and Miss Olivier for all the time and effort they put into organizing the tour, and to all the parents who played such an important part in the success of the tour including their incredible fund raising efforts. We now look forward to an exciting hockey season with home games to be played on our beautifully prepared hockey fields, which are probably the best in the country at the moment. Our thanks go to Mr Jambanja and his team for preparing the fields so well.
Our Grade 6’s are getting very excited as Grade 6B and half of Grade 6M will be going to Far & Wide on Sunday for their environmental and leadership camp. Grade 6H will follow the next week. We wish them all a most enjoyable and informative camps.
Next week we start our Afternoon Activities, Day Boarding, and Hostel lunches. Information of all of these as well as the Term Calendar have been forwarded and are attached. Please note that the Day Boarding and Hostel lunch returns are due on Monday morning.
We are experiencing many disruptions from parents bringing lunches to school during the morning for their children who have packed lunches. These disruptions include parents going into the classrooms and disturbing the class to deliver lunches, parents bringing lunches late and so delaying the end of lunchtime and parents bringing fast food which gives the wrong impression of what our pupils should be eating at school. Please would parents send the pupils to school with the packed lunches in the mornings.
