Dear Parents

We have come to the end of our last full week of school as term ends next Wednesday, 1st April, after Final Assembly, which will begin at 11:15am.  All parents are invited to Final Assembly.

The Inter-House Athletics held last Saturday was a huge success with all pupils representing their Houses with honour.  The event was very well supported, with everyone impressed at the standard of competition.  Our congratulations go to all the pupils who participated.

Our Eisteddfod Choirs also did extremely well last Friday.  The standard of singing was very high and our choirs certainly made a huge impression on everyone.  The results were most impressive and follow.  Our congratulations go to all members of all of the five choirs that sang in the Eisteddfod, as well as all our other entries, and to Mrs. Van Stryp and Mr. Hartnack for their preparation of the choirs and soloists.

Although there were no afternoon activities this week, our Parent/Teacher Consultations were held on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

Our Public Speakers also participated in the Inter-Schools Public Speaking competition last night and our ECD, Grade 1 and Grade 2 pupils competed in their ‘Infants Sports Day’ today.  The Public Speaking team did incredibly well, coming third overall, and the Infants Sports Day was delightful and very colourful and exciting for all.

This week will end with our Athletics Team’s participation in the EPSA’s Inter Schools’ Athletics. Our Division’s meet will be held tomorrow at Lendy Park School in Marondera. We wish our Athletics’ Team every success.

Before we close for the Easter break we will be holding our very special annual ‘Eisteddfod Concert’ on Tuesday evening at 6:30pm in the Hall.  This annual concert showcases Bishopslea’s music with our entries in the Eisteddfod awarded a 1st grade, or higher, performing.  All parents and friends are invited to this special event. There will be a DVD made of the concert, which parents can order and the PTA will be selling drinks before the performance.

Fashion Show

Our congratulations must go to Tanaka Mahaka, Ella George, Chiwoniso Chandiwana, Rudairo Samuriwo, Katia Da Silva Peppard and Geena Whitin from Grade 6H for organizing their fund raising ‘Fashion Show’ which was held at break yesterday.  What was special about this Fashion Show was that entries had to use recycled materials.

Grade 6H raised a huge $500 for Kidzcan.
