Dear Parents
Firstly, our congratulations go to our Grade 7 pupils who were all accepted into the Senior Schools of their first choice. This is a most impressive achievement and indicative of all the work the pupils put in to preparing for the Common Entrance Exams. The reports we received from the various schools were very complimentary with one Head writing, ‘Your girls stood out, not only in their turnout but also in their manners, their presentation of work and in their superior knowledge of the fundamentals of Maths’.
We attended the Ministry of Education’s Annual Provincial Awards Ceremony at the Celebration Centre this morning.
Our Hockey and Netball teams played their last individual matches this week with the Netball Teams playing against Twin Rivers and the Hockey Teams playing against Sharon. The 1st and 2nd Hockey teams had an interesting match as they played against the Sharon Boys Teams. All the matches were very exciting and well played by all. Results are listed below. Our Grade 3 and 4 pupils all played in the Fillies Internal League matches yesterday afternoon, which was most exciting and showcased our depth of talent.
This weekend our Grade 3 Hockey Team are playing in their last Festival which will be at Lilfordia, our Fillies Netball Team will be playing in their final Festival of the season at Ruzawi and we wish Zara Hussein, Makanaka Mawere, Chiwoniso Chandiwana, Yeukai Muguti and Lucy Da Silva Peppard all the best playing for the Mashonaland U13 Hockey team at the Inter-Provincials being played in Bulawayo this weekend.
Last Saturday our boarders and their families went on the school bus for a day trip to Bally Vaughan, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Our thanks go to Mrs Victor for arranging the trip.
The Grade 3, 4 and 5 pupils have all been busy rehearsing for their production of ‘The Willow Pattern’, which will be performed on Monday morning for the school and then on Wednesday and Thursday evenings for parents and friends. The evening performances will begin at 6:30pm. Tickets will be on sale at the door at $2:00. This promises to be an exceptional production to which everyone is invited to come and watch.
There will be no afternoon activities or hostel lunch next week as all resources are being put into ‘The Willow Pattern’. However, Day Boarding will continue next week. Parents wishing to utilise this service next week should please contact the office.
The 2nd Term Team Photos will be taken on Tuesday. Pupils involved will be required to bring their kit.
