Dear Parents
The rains appear to finally be with us as the ITCZ is over the whole country, which hopefully means the rains are here to stay for a while. Please note that afternoon activities are not cancelled when it rains unless there is official notification from the office. If rains prevent an activity from being undertaken pupils be given classroom instruction or will do a different activity.
Our sporting fixtures are well under way now, which we are all enjoying watching. Would all parents note that there is a CHISZ School’s policy dictating that parents and coaches may shout encouragement but may not coach from the sidelines or tell players what to do. Umpires/referees, decisions should not be questioned from the sidelines either. Queries should be directed to the Team’s Coach who will make a formal query if necessary. The rules are in place to give the correct examples of sportsmanship to the pupils playing and supporting.
Would parents also note that Afternoon Activities for all pupils in Grades 3 – 7 are compulsory. If a pupil is to miss an afternoon activity an excuse note from the parents is required. Parents of pupils not attending Afternoon Activities without an excuse note will be phoned, as the whereabouts of pupils who should be at school are required to be ascertained.
PTA AGM
This serves as advance notice, as per the PTA Constitution, that the PTA’s AGM will be held on Tuesday 27th February at 6.00pm and will be followed by a ‘Welcome Back’ cocktail Party for all parents.
Parents wishing to join the PTA Committee should collect Nomination Forms from the office.
