Dear Parents
Firstly our congratulation go to Grade 2H and Anshe Kelder who won national awards at the National Institute of Allied Arts Awards Ceremony last Saturday.
Our pupils have looked very colourful today with all pupils wearing something pink in support of Cancer Awareness and donating to the Cancer Association.
Our clean up operation has proved most successful. Not only has the back of the school been cleaned but all our storerooms have been cleared and cleaned as well. Having the correct machinery to do this has made an enormous difference. Over fifty-five loads have been taken out in the tipper truck.
On Wednesday, our swimming team took part in their first Gala of the season at Convent where they came third (girls) out of the six schools participating. Next week, on Wednesday we will be hosting our Bishopslea Invitational Gala where we wish our swimmers all the best.
This afternoon our Fillies Tennis Team will be travelling to Barwick where they will be taking part in the Barwick Fillies Festival. We wish them all the best as well.
Our thanks go to Mrs Makan and her team undertaking eye testing of the Grade 5’s and one Grade 6 class. The testing will continue next week.
The Grade 7’s start writing their ZIMSEC exams next week on Tuesday and will sit an exam a day until Half Term on Thursday 16th October. We wish them all every success.
Also on Tuesday next week, 7th October, Mrs Pauline Makoni, who will be taking over as Head of Arundel as from January 2015, will be talking to our Grade 6 and 7 pupils at 12:00pm in the School Hall. All interested parents are invited to attend.
The PTA are already planning their next event. This will be for adults only and open to all parents and their friends. They will be holding a Pub Quiz and Fish and Chip Night on Saturday 25th October in the school hall. The quiz and supper will be followed by a disco. Tickets will be on sale shortly in the office and car park at a cost of $15:00.
