Dear Parents
What an exciting week it has been. Our participation in the National Institute of Allied Arts Eisteddfod has been huge with five choirs competing, many vocalists and our Marimba Ensembles.
The choirs all sang beautifully this week and were awarded very pleasing marks as indicated below. Special congratulations must go to our Grade 3 choir which were not only awarded Honours, but also the trophy for the best choir in the age group. We now look forward to our Eisteddfod Concert on 27th March.
We started our interviews for the 2019 ECD and Grade 1 intakes this week. The final interviews will be conducted on Monday afternoon.
There will be no more afternoon activities this term as we will be holding our Parent/Teacher consultations on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon next week. All parents should have received notification of the times advising them for the consultations.
We will be holding our Inter House Sports Day tomorrow.
In preparation the jumps events were held on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon this week. The standard was very high with two records being broken.
Inter-House Sports Day
We are holding our Annual Inter-House Sports Day for all pupils in Grade 3 – 7 tomorrow, 17th March starting at 9.00am. All team lists are up on the notice board. Girls should be here by 8:30am dressed in house colour T-shirts, white socks, takkies, tracksuits, hats and name badges. They are also reminded to bring sun cream. They should meet on the netball field with their house captains for warm-up and roll call. Please would pupils not bring juice as this attracts bees to the tents. Water will be provided. Prize giving should be at approximately 12:15pm. All parents, family and friends of Bishopslea are invited. The PTA will be selling food and drinks during and after the event.
Please note that parents, relatives etc. are not allowed to go to the competitors’ tents during the events and are not allowed to give the competitors drinks and food until the event is over. All girls should come to school irrespective of the weather. If the event is to be cancelled owing to the weather, we will make the decision after 8:30am when everyone is here.
