Dear Parents
The CHISZ Conference and ATS AGM last week were once again most interesting and informative with business sessions interspersed with interesting guest speakers. It also provided a great opportunity for all the CHISZ Heads and Governor representatives to meet informally, out of the actual conference, and catch up and discuss matters of mutual interest, including the inevitable rugby rivalry which never effects the girls schools.
Grade 6B arrived back from Far & Wide last Sunday after having had a most enjoyable, exciting and worth while camp as did Grade 6H the week before.
Grade 6H also went to the Convent and St Georges production of Oklahoma, which they thoroughly enjoyed.
Our sports teams from Grade 3 to U13 have had a full week of matches with results listed below. Tomorrow, our 1st Hockey team will be competing in the EPSA U13 Festival and our hockey and netball Fillies and U13 2nd teams will be competing in the Endeavour Festival at Gateway. This week we started our Internal hockey league which was most exciting but very poorly supported by parents. The internal league gives pupils who do not normally play in inter-school matches the opportunity to experience the competitive side of their sport. Parents are encouraged to support the Internal league teams as much as the teams playing other schools are supported. The next Internal league matches will be between Falcons and Parrots next Wednesday, 11th June at 2:00pm.
The PTA are holding their ‘Movie Night’ this evening. The film starts at 6:30pm with over six hundred tickets having been pre sold. There will be some tickets available at the entrance. As the film is being shown on the netball field it will be cold so everyone is advised to dress warmly and to bring blankets or chairs to sit on. Our thanks once again go to Mighty Movies for providing the projector, screen and technicians.
The PTA are also busy organising the Golf Day, which will be held on 4th July. Although many teams have entered already, prizes are still being requested. Parent’s support of this would be most appreciated. A letter from Mr Innocent Maringa, the PTA Chairman, is attached.
Also attached is a letter from Mrs Vera Musara, Chair of the Bishopslea Board of Governors, announcing changes to the Board.
