What a wonderful musical week we have had.  This week our marimba ensembles and soloists and our five choirs competed in the Eisteddfod.  They have all played and sung beautifully and have all made us extremely proud.  The Grade 3 choir deserves special mention for being awarded Honours in their group.  The other four choirs were all awarded, most credible 1st +.

Our marimba players not only took part in the Eisteddfod but also played in a Combined Marimba Concert with Chisipite Junior and Hartmann House, hosted by Chisipite, on Wednesday evening.  The concert was exceptional with our girls being, to us, the stars of the show.

Our week will end on a major sporting note.  Our Inter-house Sports Day will be held tomorrow, Saturday, starting at 8:30am.  All pupils in Grades 3 – 7 will be participating with the lists of competitors for all events posted on the notice board.

The high and long jump events have already been held and proved most exciting.

Details and information on the Sports Day follow.

The Grade 5 parents will be selling breakfast, the hockey tour fund raising parents will be selling coffee and muffins and the PTA will be selling refreshments and delicious curry and rice for lunch.

There will be no afternoon activities next week as we will be holding our Parent/Teacher consultations on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and our much-anticipated Eisteddfod Concert on Wednesday evening.

Time allocations for the Parent/Teacher consultations have been sent home with pupils.  There are lists for specialist teacher consultations on the notice board.  Parents can fill suitable times if they wish to see any of the specialist teachers.

The Eisteddfod Concert will be hosted on Wednesday evening at 6:30pm.  The programme will include as many of our Eisteddfod entries as possible and will include all Honours 1+ and 1st awards. The concert show cases our musical talents and is always greatly enjoyed by all.  All parents and guests are invited.

Our Infants Sports Day will be held next Friday, 4th April starting at 9:00am.  All parents are invited to this special event that our Nursery, Grade 1 and Grade 2 pupils have been practicing so hard for.

Inter-House Sports Day
We are holding our Annual Inter-House Sports Day for all pupils in Grade 3 – 7 tomorrow, 29th March.  All team lists are up on the notice board.  Girls should be here by 8:00am dressed in house colour T shirts, white socks, takkies, tracksuits, hats and name badges.  They are also reminded to bring sun cream.  They should meet on the netball field with their house captains for warm-up and roll call.  Please would pupils not bring juice as this attracts bees to the tents.  Water will be provided.

Pupils should be at school by 8:00am as the events will start promptly at 8:30am.  Prize giving should be at approximately 12:15pm.  All parents, family and friends of Bishopslea are invited.

Please note that parents, relatives etc. are not allowed to go to the competitors’ tents during the events and are not allowed to give the competitors drinks and food until the event is over.  All girls should come to school irrespective of the weather.  If the event is to be cancelled owing to the weather, we will make the decision after 8:30am when everyone is here.
