Dear Parents
We have had a most exciting end of term.

Our Grade 6’s went on a guided tour of Hero’s Acre last week and then our Athletics Team participated in their Division of the EPSA Inter-Schools Athletics last Saturday where they came 2nd.  Congratulations go to the whole team.

On Tuesday evening our Junior and Senior Public Speakers took part in the Inter-Schools Public Speaking competition where they came 2nd out of 10 schools participating.  Congratulations go to Davidzo Chigwedere and Rachel Nyamararo for that excellent result.

Our Eisteddfod Concert on Tuesday night was a huge success and most enjoyable and entertaining.  Not all of our Eisteddfod entries could participate owing to time constraints but the prgramme included our Marimba Ensembles, soloists, pianists and our five choirs.  The final choir to sing was the Grade 5 choir who were not only awarded Honours and the trophy for best choir, but were asked to sing at the National Institute of Allied Arts Eisteddfod Junior Highlights Concert, which was a great honour.  Our congratulations go to all our pupils who sang and played so beautifully in our concert and our thanks go to Mr Shoko (marimba’s), Mr Hartnack and Mrs Van Stryp for all the effort they put into our music.

The ECD, Grade 1 and Grade 2 pupils were very excited and surprised yesterday to discover that the Easter Bunny had visited Bishopslea and had left footprints around the school, as well as Easter eggs.

Term ended today after Final Assembly, which was well supported by parents.  We were all very sad to say goodbye to Mrs Folkerstein, who has been our Hostel Matron for the past year.  She will be greatly missed.  We were also very sad to say goodbye to Mr Robert Nyakabanga who retires after working at Bishopslea for a total of 26 years in the Hostel.  We were very pleased to give Robert a farewell present of a scotch cart and wish him all the best in his retirement.

We are pleased to inform you that we are including fleece tops as part of our winter school uniform as from this year. Glen Abby have the design and will have them on sale by the beginning of next term.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Easter and an enjoyable and safe holiday.
