Dear Parents
We have now come to the end of our last week of afternoon activities, which ended with our exciting Fillies Internal Hockey League matches, with every pupil in Grade 4 and 5, as well as two of the Grade 3 teams participating. Results are below. Sports are not finished though as this evening our 1st Hockey Team will be playing in the Lilfordia Under lights Festival and on Saturday our Gr 3 team will be playing in a Gr 3 Hockey Tournament also at Lilfordia.
Next week will be a very full and exciting week even though there are no afternoon activities, as firstly the Nursery (now termed ECD to comply with Ministry of Education terminology) Grade 1 and Grade 2 pupils will be holding their Ball Skills Day on Wednesday - ECD, Thursday - Grade 1 and Friday - Grade 2. All Ball Skills Days start at 11:00am with parents invited to come and watch all the skills their daughters have learned.
The Grade 3, 4 and 5 pupils will also be having an exciting and full week, as they will be performing their production of ‘A Tribute to Walt Disney’. The school’s performance will be on Monday at 8:30am and the evening performances for parents and friends on Wednesday and Thursday starting at 6:30pm. The PTA will kindly be selling drinks before the evening performances. Our thanks go to Mr Hartnack for stepping in to play the keyboard for this production.
Our thanks must go to the members of the Bishopslea Board of Governors who made themselves available for the ‘Meet & Greet the Board’ on Tuesday evening. Although few parents attended, the event certainly highlighted the hugely significant and critical role the Board and its Sub Committees play in the school and the wide range of expertise that the Members voluntarily bring to the school. Our thanks are not only for the evening but are for all the effort, time and help the Board Members so willingly give the school, without which Bishopslea would not function as it does.
