Dear Parents
Firstly, our congratulations must go to all involved in the hugely successful Sponsored Walk and Fun Day last Sunday. It was a most enjoyable, massively supported and well-organised event. The PTA and the Grade 5 parents really pulled out all the stops and kept everyone well watered, fed and entertained. The amount of work and effort that went into this event by the PTA Committee members really was incredible. They were well supported by the office staff and the Grade 5 parents as always. Our grateful thanks go to everyone who helped. Special congratulations must go to our Grade 7’s for their amazing stalls. The innovation, variety and entertainment value impressed everyone.
Last weekend was most eventful as not only did we hold the Sponsored Walk and Fun Day, but on Saturday our tennis teams travelled to Ruzawi where they played spectacularly by all accounts. Results follow.
Also on Saturday, our Wildlife Team participated in the first round of the Inter-Schools Wild Life Quiz where they came second and missing first place by only one point. Our congratulations go to Mukudzei Watambgwa, Ashley Mlauzi and Lindsay Wright-Goodale and we wish them all the best in the Mashonaland Finals.
Since embarking on our refurbishment programme five years ago, we have been accumulating an incredible amount of rubble, rubbish, old furniture and fittings. We have donated many tonnes to less privileged schools but have accumulated a huge amount of rubbish and rubble that is of no use. This week we have had a front end loader and a tipper truck clearing the whole back of the school and doing many trips a day to the municipal dump. It has been a massive exercise but has transformed the back of the school and allowed us access into areas of the school that have been inaccessible for years. Development of these areas is being looked at.
