Dear Parents
Firstly a Very Happy Diwali to all our Hindu pupils, parents and friends. We now look forward to a presentation on Diwali at next Friday’s assembly.
We hope everyone enjoyed Half Term and that everyone is ready for this, very hectic, remainder of the year.
The highlight of the week has been the Infants’ production of ‘Bible Stories’, which they performed so beautifully on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Our congratulations go to all the pupils in the cast and our thanks to the Teachers, Mr Hartnack and all the parents who put so much effort into making the production such a success.
Next week is Exam Week. Please note that there will be no afternoon activities next week except for matches and galas. The Grade 7’s will also be writing their CHISZ Pre Secondary Shona Proficiency exams and their CHISZ computer exams next week.
The PTA are busy preparing for tomorrow nights ‘Pub Quiz, Fish and Chips and Disco Night’. There are still some tickets available that can be bought at the door. The Pub Quiz format will be teams of 4 with teams arranging themselves or being paired up with others on the night. There are lots of prizes with fun being the most important aspect. The evening promises to be a huge success and great value at $15 a ticket including supper.
Please be reminded that I will be giving a repeat talk on ‘Understanding and Helping children with Dyslexia and ADD’ next Thursday at 5:45pm in the school hall. The talk is open to anyone interested. There will be a $2:00 entry donation to Childline.
We will also be hosting our New Parents Meeting next Thursday at 4:00pm for all parents whose children have been accepted for 2015.
There will be a meeting for Grade 7 parents next Friday at 12:30pm in Grade 7C to discuss the Grade 7’s Leavers’ Party.
Pirate Swimming Club
We are very pleased to announce that Pirates Swimming Club have started a satellite club at Bishopslea School for the convenience of parents. This is a great opportunity for our pupils to improve their swimming. Although open to all, boys and girls, Bishopslea pupils will be given priority. For any further information please contact Mrs Rosser or Mrs Nel.
