Dear Parents
Last night we held a most special Farewell for Mrs Davidson who is retiring at the end of the year after thirty-five years of dedicated teaching at Bishopslea. The function was attended by over 110 invited guests including many past colleagues of Mrs Davidson’s. Our thanks go to Fazarna Hussein, Storm Webster and Debbie Wright-Goodale for organising the event. The hall, décor, food, string quartet and atmosphere were all stunning and so elegant. Our thanks also go to Mr Jordan Matthee for all his help and much appreciated assistance and to the PTA for manning the bar.
The school was very colourful today as pupils came dressed in civvies to raise funds for the annual Workers Christmas Hampers.
Last Saturday our Swimming Team competed in the EPSA Division 1 Gala at the Les Brown Pool. Our congratulations go to the team members who all swam so well, coming fourth in the Girls section. Our congratulations also go to our synchronised swimmers for their stunning display at the gala.
Congratulations also go to our ‘B’ Swimming Team for coming second in the Inter Schools ‘B’ Team Gala last Friday.
We held our Inter-House Shona Word a Day competition today with all pupils in Grades 3 – 7 competing. The trophy will be awarded at Prize Giving Next week will be our final week of afternoon activities and will end with the Infants Gala next Friday. Our ECD, Grade 1 and Grade 2 pupils are all practicing hard and getting very excited for their special event, which will begin at 9.00am. All parents and friends are invited to come and watch.
Charity Collections
Grade 6 & 7 pupils are asked if they would like to bring in toiletries for the elderly people, items such as soap, deodorant etc would be greatly
appreciated.
Grades ECD to Grade 5 pupils are asked to bring any toys, books, and clothing for children of all ages, which will be donated, to various children’s homes. Any presents that are wrapped, please could we ask that they be labled on the outside with the age and sex of the child the present is suitable for.
