Dear Parents
The PTA’s Golf Day held last Friday at Country Club was a huge success.  It was a very colourful event made even better by the beautiful weather.  There was a full field, exceptional sponsorship, incredible give aways as well as prizes for every team participating, which included parents’ teams as well as teams from all our suppliers, service providers and associates.  Our grateful thanks go to everyone who supported the Golf Day and especially to the PTA for such a well run and enjoyable event.

Last night’s Combined Schools Marimba Concert hosted by us and including Marimba groups from Chisipite Junior, St. Johns Prep, Convent, Twin Rivers and Hartmann House was an exceptional and most entertaining concert.  Our congratulations go to all the players participating and to Mr Shoko who put the concert together.

Last Saturday over 70 of our Grades 6 and 7 pupils, accompanied by Mrs Van Stryp, Mrs Holderness, Mrs Brooke and Mrs Fick, went to watch ‘My Fair Lady’ at Reps Theatre, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Before the performance our pupils were treated to a talk on various aspects of the pre-curtain up preperation by members of the cast.

Two of our pupils, Danielle Murrell and Aalia Mahboub travelled to Bulawayo yesterday with the Mashonaland Hockey Team to take part in the Inter Provincial Hockey Tournament being held this weekend.  We wish them every success.

Our Grade 7’s are currently undergoing a MARS First Aid Course, which should be of great benefit to them in the future.  The Grade 7’s also finished their ‘Adventure Unlimited’ course held every Tuesday over the past three weeks, to help prepare them for Senior School and being teenagers. Our grateful thanks go to the Scripture Union for providing this most valuable service.

I gave a talk on Dyslexia and ADD/ADHD support to interested teachers and parents on Wednesday afternoon. It was a pleasure being able to share the significant lessons we are learning from our ELP classes and the advances in teaching methods, which we believe will influence educational thinking in the future.  The talk was well supported.

There are now only three weeks of term remaining.  Next week will be the last week of afternoon activities as the following week will be dedicated to the Grade 3, 4 and 5’s production of ‘Down Memory Lane’ that the pupils are all rehearsing so hard for.  We are all looking forward to the performances.

Day Boarding
Would parents of pupils who stay for day boarding please note that day boarding will continue until the end of term for parents convenience.  Please could parents wanting to continue with day boarding till the end of the term contact the office.

Grade 6 Fund Raiser
Our congratulations go to Naila Girach, Ateeyah Hussein, Raeesa Bhura, Mbali Sikala, Carly Wellbeloved, Chelsea Webster, Ashlee Wright-Goodale and Danielle Kuhuni who together raised $560.00 for I Win Orphanage. Our thanks also go to all the pupils who entered the competition.
