Dear Parents
The first week of afternoon activities has gone smoothly and the hot weather has meant less complaints about the temperature of the water in the swimming pools, which is normally significantly lower at the beginning of the third terms.
Our Grade 7’s returned today after their most enjoyable and informative camp to Tree of Life.
Our Tennis Teams, played their first matches of the term this week with results listed below.
The National Institute of Allied Arts will be holding the Annual Prize Giving tomorrow. We are very pleased to announce that once again Bishopslea pupils have been awarded three National Awards. Our congratulations go to Danielle Viki for being awarded the National Prize for Grade 2 Prose in the Literary Festival, to Zion Mupamhanga for being awarded the National Prize for Grade 3 in the Visual Arts Festival and to Dominique Karase for being awarded the National Prize for Grade 4 in the Visual Arts Festival.
The PTA is busy preparing for their Annual Sponsored Walk and Fun Day on Sunday 8th October. This annual event is one of the highlights of our year calendar and is always a huge success. We are once again encouraging all pupils to get sponsors and remind parents and pupils that every pupil raising at least $50:00 will get a prize. Sponsorship money can be forwarded to the school by Ecocash, Transfer or swipe.

Vision and Hearing Screening
All ECD and Grade 1 pupils whose parents forwarded the consent forms have had their hearing and vision tested this week as a school service. Parents will be contacted if any problems were detected.
Parents of pupils in other Grades and ECD and Grade 1 parents, who did not forward the consent forms, may have their children tested but will be required to pay a fee of $10 for hearing and $5 for vision. Parents wishing to take advantage of this are requested to collect forms from the office.
Infectious Illnesses
Please would parents note that pupils with infectious ailments, including chicken pox, measles, mumps, ring worm and flu, should be kept at home and only brought back to school once being given the all clear by a doctor in all cases with the exception of flu.
